Ingredients
3/4 cup cane sugar
1/2 cup orange juice
1/2 cup water
12 ounces of fresh cranberries
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 cinnamon stick
Preparation
Rinse fresh cranberries and discard any that are spent.
Add all ingredients except cranberries to a medium sauce pan and mix thouroughly.
Briefly bring mixture to a boil while stirring frequently, then reduce to a simmer.
Carefully add cranberries to the pot and return to a simmer.
Cook for 10-15 minutes until most of the cranberries have burst.
Remove from heat and allow sauce to cool for about 30 minutes.
Remove cinnamon stick.
Once sauce is no longer hot, add to blender and blend until smooth.
Refridgerate blended sauce for at least 3 hours.
